Ahoy there, ClassMateys! By now, you should be all recovered from last summer's short-notice thirty-year class reunion. It's time now to plan for our 50th Birthday Alaskan Cruise coming up in May next year! We promise it'll be the best Fiftieth Birthday we've ever had! We've booked the Princess Cruises' Golden Princess, departing May 23, 2009 from Seattle. Yes, that's Memorial Day weekend. It's a week-long vacation taking us past lots of Alaskan coastline, and stopping in Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord, Ketchikan and Victoria, BC. Read about the ship itself here. http://www.vacationstogo.com/ship.cfm?shipid=166 We were able to book group rates through Vacations-to-Go. For this reunion, we won't be collecting money; instead, you can book your room directly through the travel agent. They've built us a web page where you can make your reservations and view our itinerary on-line. http://www.vacationstogo.com/KM77Reunion. Our group rates start at $699 per person (plus taxes and fuel charges) for an inside cabin. To hold your reservation, you'll need to make a down payment of just $350 per passenger. The final balance won't come due until March 11, 2009. Reservations are based on double occupancy. If you need a roommate, let Laura or me know and we'll start a list of other solo sailors that you might be able to share a cabin with. For those coming from out of town, you can use the Vacations-to-Go site to book your airfare or book it on your own. (My preference). Cabins will go fast, so please make your reservation early! We'll see you at http://www.vacationstogo.com/KM77Reunion. If you have questions, or would like to volunteer to be on the planning committee, contact me at debra@voeller.us or LauraMaery at km77@writerspost.com. We'll take off our party hats just long enough to write back.
